Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will be met and greeted by our safari tour guide/driver who will pick you up from your hotel and then transfer you to the south western part of Uganda to Queen Elizabeth national Park a home to a wide biodiversity of wildlife species. You will drive for about 7-8 hours however, you will have a first stopover at the Equator crossing for photograph and informative talks; and then after you will proceed to Mbarara for lunch(at Agip Motel) and later to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a scenic drive all through. If you still have energy visit the salt lake. Day 2: Game drive and Launch drive
Get a cup of tea or coffee to worm you up and then after, you will be driven to the Kasenyi area of the park to catch up with early risers that rush out from their hideouts. Games expected to see include leopards, hyena, lion, Elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, water buck, warthogs and so many others. After this wonderful moment retreat to the lodge for Breakfast and lunch and after lunch enjoy a two hours launch cruise along the Kazinga channel which connects lakes George and Edward. The launch cruise will reward you with more opportunity to see more species of wildlife like hippos and crocodiles just a few meters from the boat while elephants and buffaloes can be spotted along the shoreline plus different species of birds that live and feed on the lake. If you are lucky you can spot the rare shoebill. Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and later transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast, and a short briefing from the park wardens about the do’s and don’ts while with the chimps, you will escort the ranger guide to Kyambura gorge to track the chimps in their natural habitat. The trek is unpredictable however it can last from 1-6 hours, ounce chimps are met you strictly allowed only one hour with them while observing their behaviors as well as taking photography, you may see different primates moving in the forest like the black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, gray checked manga bay, civet monkeys and many more. After the activity retire back to the lodge for lunch after you will embark on a 3-4 hours’ drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the remaining endangered mountain gorillas. You will pass through the famous part of the park known as the Isahasha sector famous for its tree climbing lions and if lucky enough you will spot them sited on fig trees or tree branches, game drive on the way is superb. Arrive at the park in evening. Day 4: Gorilla tracking and Community walk
After breakfast you will be briefed by a ranger guide on how you will successfully carry out gorilla tracking as you penetrate the thick forest for the rare mountain gorilla in their natural setting. With packed lunch, battled water, jacket, you will enter the forest following the animal trails, while in the forest, you may be able to view other animals like buffaloes, black-fronted duiker, leopards, giant forest hog, and the rare golden monkeys plus also bird and butterfly among others. The time taken to track these species is unpredictable as it can go from a half to full day depending on a gorilla family, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well as tracking gears like sturdy pair of walking shoes/boots, trekking sometimes involves passing through muddy and steep slopes. Ounce gorillas are met you strictly allowed only one hour with them while taking photography as well as studding their behaviors. After return to the lodge, if the evening is free go for a community walk and meet the local people who live near the park, they will entertain you through their cultural songs and dance.
