Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival to Entebbe
Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by our representative of Access Africa Safaris who will brief you about the safari and later he will transfer you to your pre-booked lodge for dinner and an overnight at (Budget) the Lodge Hotel, (Mid-range) Cassia Lodge, Boma Guest House, (luxury) Hotel Africana, and Serena Hotel
Day 2: KAMPALA – Lake Mburo National Park.
In the morning after breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to the south western part of Uganda to Lake Mburo national park. You will have the first stopover at the equator crossing for photography and snacks and then after proceed to Lake Mburo national park, arrive in time at the park for lunch. After lunch you will go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo to see games like hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles and birds. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo rest camp, Arcadia cottages- (mid-range), Mantana and Mihingo both luxurious.
Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to lake Bunyonyi one of the deepest lakes in the world, it was named because of the very many small birds that inhabit the lake. Arrive in time at the lodge and later take your boat and explore the different islands on the lake. You will return later in the afternoon for full lunch and relaxation. Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi.
After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy bird watching at the lake and then after transfer to Bwindi national park a home to endangered mountain gorillas over 450 remaining apes live only to this park. Day 5: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi national park
After breakfast you will be briefed by a ranger guide on how you will successfully carry out gorilla tracking as you penetrate the thick forest for the rare mountain gorilla in their natural setting. With packed lunch, battled water, jacket, you will enter the forest following the animal trails. The time taken to track these species is unpredictable as it can go from a half to full day depending on a gorilla family, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well as tracking gears like sturdy pair of walking shoes/boots, trekking sometimes involves passing through muddy and steep slopes. Ounce gorillas are met you strictly allowed only one hour with them while taking photography as well as studding their behaviors. After return to the lodge, if the evening is free go for a community walk and meet the local people who live near the park, they will entertain you through their cultural songs and dance. Day 6:Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park.
In the morning you will have breakfast and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National park through the Ishasha sector famous for the tree climbing lions. You will reach Queen N.P in the afternoon for lunch to prepare for an afternoon Launch drive along the Kazinga channel which connects lakes George and Edward. During the two hours launch cruise you will be fortunate to spot various species of animals that live and feed on the lake just meters from the boat see the Hippos, crocodile while Buffalos and elephants can be seen along the shoreline and many species of birds as some are residents while others are migrants. After breakfast, you will be driven to kasenyi area of the park to catch-up with different species of animals that live in the park. Games expected to see include elephant, lion, Leopard, buffalo, waterbuck, warthogs, Uganda Kob, among others, after drive back to the lodge for full breakfast and lunch. After lunch, you will visit Katwe salt lake and get to know how salt is being extracted from this beautiful lake. Or you can go for chimp tracking in the Kyambura George. Day 8: Transfer to kibale forest national park
This morning get a cup of tea/coffee to warm you up and then enjoy another game drive at the parkto search for more species of animals including predators and nocturnal animals after, come back to the lodge for full breakfast. After, you will embark on a transfer to Kibale forest national park a home to over 13 species of primates coupled with chimpanzee the closest relative of man. In the Late afternoon, you will visit the Crater Lake region. Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking and Nature walks.
After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters in Kanyankyu for briefing before you set off to the forest to begin the search of our close relatives the chimps. Chimpanzee tracking time is unpredictable however it can go from 1-6 hours since meeting them depends on where they spent their last night from, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well tracking gears like sturdy pair of shoes. Day 11:Half Day Kampala city tour and then departure
After breakfast, you will have a half day Kampala city tour to visit the historical sites, religious sites, markets and the Uganda museum, you will later have lunch and then transfer back to the airport for your departure flight back home if scheduled on this day
