Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up – City tour – Volcanoes national park
Pick up by our tour guide who will transfer you Kigali for a city tour and visit the local markets, art and craft shops, genocide memorial grounds and later transfer to Volcanoes national park through a beautiful country side. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla view lodge (Luxury)/ La Palme (Deluxe)/ Hotel Muhabura (Budget)
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and community walk
Have an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch early enough to be briefed about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. this will be followed by the search of the gorillas in the forest which may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour. Ascend for a community walk to the Banyarwanda people and enjoy their different performances and also explore more about their unique culture. Day 3: Golden monkey trekking/ Dian fossey hike and Transfer to Lake Kivu
Early morning breakfast and then proceed to the park headquarters to trek golden monkeys along with other primates in the forest or take a hike to the Karisoke research center for a visit to the Dian fossey tombs. Along the way, you may come across some primates such as the black and white Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, L’hoests monkeys and some bird species. Return for lunch which will be followed by a transfer to Lake Kivu for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Kivu Serena hotel (Luxury)/ Palm gardens resort (Deluxe)/ Paradise marahide (Budget)
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali and Departure
After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kivu to the different islands on the lake and later embark on a transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
